2018 Black History Month Theme

Every year since 1976, when President Gerald Ford first officially recognized February as Black History Month, every president has designated a theme.The theme of Black History Month 2018 is “African Americans in Times of War,” which honors the roles that black Americans have played in warfare and coincides with the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.Learn more about the history of Black History Month and this year’s theme on the History Channel’s website.
