This movie examines modern dating practices and sheds light on the issues around it.

Anyone who’s been single in today’s world knows that the dating atmosphere is not what it used to be. “The Dating Project” is a documentary that taps into the reason behind this and confronts issues surrounding the way in which we pursue relationships.

This documentary tackles the difficult questions about hookup culture and looks at how things like social media and texting have impacted how we communicate with others.

The film follows a group of people — two college students, a woman in her 20s, a woman in her 30s, and a man in his 40s — all of them single. It chronicles their exploration and experience of dating in today’s world, and reveals to viewers what can be gained by returning to the practice of traditional dating.

Megan Harrington, writer and producer, says, “Our hope is that viewers are inspired to have a real and authentic conversation about dating and relationships within their social circles and beyond. It is one of the most important topics of our time and an opportunity to shine a light on the lost art of dating.”

The documentary airs for one night on Tuesday, April 17, in select theaters. Find out more, including where you can see it by you, by visiting The Dating Project’s website.
