Meet the soon-to-be saints of Synod 2018 that the Church is looking to as examples of young adults.

The Synod on Young People, the Faith, and Vocational discernment has some heavenly help behind it.The Synod has published a list of “young witnesses” whose example is being lifted up as landmarks for this journey the Church is undertaking to walk with our generation as we recognize and accept the call to the fullness of life and love. They would be called patron saints, but not all are officially canonized — yet. You see some giants here, such as St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the “Little Flower”; and St. Charles Lwanga who was killed for defying the king of Uganda. But others are only in the first stages of the process to become saints. The common thread: when they were our age, all of them experienced moments in their lives when they made definitive choices to give their lives over to faith, hope, and love — choices that cost them their lives in one way or another. And now they are praying for us and the Church, especially during this synod!
